The AGS Mission: Making Golf Accessible Again
The Amateur Golf Society was born out of a desire to bring more golfers back to the course—without the pressures of time and cost that often keep us away.
Their mission? To make golf accessible for everyone, regardless of skill level or schedule. With the AGS Tour, you can compete in tournaments at top public courses whenever it fits your week, thanks to their unique week-long competition format.
Gone are the days of scrambling to make a tee time for a traditional one or two-day event. Instead, AGS members enjoy the freedom to play on their own schedules, with the support of a real-time scoring system powered by the AGS app.

How It All Started
AGS wasn’t always a golf-centric business. It started as a creative pivot during the pandemic while founder Daniel Hershberg was running Workhorse Brewing Company.
With the taproom shut down, Daniel looked for ways to stay connected with customers and realized golf courses were the perfect distribution points for their products. What began as a way to boost greens fee revenue for golf clubs and promote beer sales quickly morphed into something much bigger: a fully-fledged amateur golf tour designed for the everyday golfer.
The real magic of AGS lies in its flexibility. Unlike traditional golf tournaments that lock you into a specific date and time, AGS events give you a 7-day window to complete your round. Every week, the tour moves to a new course, letting you pick and choose your favorites.
Whether you’re looking to compete seriously or just want to enjoy a round with friends, AGS has you covered with multiple net flights and season-long leaderboards. The AGS app enhances this experience, providing advanced tee time bookings, real-time scoring, and a Player Pairing Program that helps you find the perfect playing partners.
Why Golfers Love AGS
Golfers are flocking to AGS because it offers something they can’t find anywhere else: competitive golf without the rigid schedules and hefty fees. The ability to tee it up when it works for you, combined with perks like advanced access to tee times and discounts with golf brands, makes AGS a game-changer. Plus, every membership includes an HDCP ID and an annual membership with your local Allied Golf Association, adding even more value to the experience.
